So.

It’s been 3 months since we last spoke. How are things?

The fate of this website has been rolling around in my head for those 3 months. Probably longer. Certain things needed to be shifted into focus, some needed to be downplayed. Still others needed to be created. I’ve addressed some of those things.

The changes are not done. I’ve created a barebones app for managing t-shirts. I’ve written a plugin to mimic Facebook’s minifeed, to aggregate all the off-site feeds that have come to define me in one place. Flickr images, del.icio.us bookmarks, blog entries, blog comments, pandora stations, t-shirts acquisitions… All the minutia of my day-to-day life that’s tracked and fed upon by the Internets, here, in a nice little list, sorted by date. Stalking has never been made so easy!

Soon enough, when I a) create a seperate blog for art and b) actually make some art, that, too, will ingratiate itself into the minifeed.

A word on the actual design of the site: I made no effort to test it in browsers other than Firefox 2.0.0.8, IE7, and Opera whatever. It will probably not work at all in resolutions below 1024×768. I’ll test it in Safari at some point. Before you start to write a pissy comment complaining about something being broken, please know that I most likely do not care. I don’t have the time to worry myself with fringe cases. I’ve knocked out the major browsers. I hate IE6 and IE5 with a passion. It will work for now. No one is paying me to maintain this, so I really couldn’t care less.

Moving on.

I bet you’re dying to know what’s been going on in my life.

The few disparate posts I made while the site was down are now here, for your perusal. They detail the major events of the past 3 months.

Some less than major things:

I rode The Griffon at Busch Gardens. It was pretty fun, but way too short. Dad is a sissy:

I’ve purchased a few Wii games: Table Tennis, Zack and Wiki, Boogie (for Jady and Kelly - best $60 I’ve ever spent).

I’ve seen a few movies: Cashback was quite good. American Gangster was awesome. 30 Days of Night was ok. 3:10 to Yuma was good. Evan Almighty sucked balls. Things We Lost In The Fire was ok. I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry was absolutely horrible. It wasn’t funny at all. I actually turned it off about two-thirds of the way through, and I rarely do that.

I’ve watched a few TV shows: The Office, which is hilarious. Pushing Daisies, Chuck, Reaper - all recommended by Allison, and all good. Prison Break has been kind of crappy the last two seasons. It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is hilariously fucked up.

I’ve read a few books. I Am America, and So Can You by Stephen Colbert. Hilarious. Invisible Man, which was very good. I’m not sure if I mentioned these before now: Life of Pi, which was really enjoyable and thought-provoking. A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier was good, but not quite what I expected. I’m currently working on Infinite Jest. It’s an intimidating book. After that, I plan to read A Confederacy of Dunces.

I’ve listened to a few things: The new Radiohead CD is very good. When I listen to it in the car, it makes it seem like I should be on my way to do something important, or maybe reflecting on something profound. Matt #6 has been working on a downtempo Pandora station that’s very good.

I’ve lost touch with a few people. Since Nana died, I haven’t been very interested in participating in life. My thoughts have skyrocketed to a much higher perspective than I’m used to, rendering pretty much everything meaningless, since I now reside in the grand scheme of things. I’m working on readjusting to a more healthy middle ground. I think some of the residual effects will be positive… The finality and utter inescapable nature of death is making me want to rid myself of this social anxiety once and for all, and actually live. Motivation, as always, is my biggest road block.

I’ve bought a lot of t-shirts. It warrants its own post.

I haven’t slept since Thursday night. I had a pretty bad dream. I’m going to go try to sleep a little now.

I’ll try to get the site up and running after work tomorrow.
