You might have noticed that the site was down quite a bit last week. My host had multiple, cascading hardware failures starting last weekend. It seems like it’s finally resolved for the most part. I was one of the lucky few to have problems ALL FUCKING WEEK.

So, anyway, let’s catch up.

I’m finally working on stuff for Matt’s movie. They bought a domain name, http://www.homelesscoloringbook.com, though I haven’t put anything up there yet. I plan to work on that tonight.

I did these two things at work yesterday to relieve frustration. I did them with a mouse in photoshop:

I’ve been sleeping a little better lately. I’m still having nightmares, of course, but I’m able to fall asleep and slip into them a little easier.

Work still sucks. I found out some things somewhat recently that make me wonder why I bother working so hard. As a result, I’ve been trying to cut back on my hours. I haven’t been successful. Like everything else, I stick to what’s comfortable and familiar, and resent it and myself for it.

Venture Brothers is an awesome show. Strangers with Candy is pretty funny, but it’s a little hit-and-miss. This season of Rescue Me has been pretty good, but I miss the whole talking-to-ghosts aspect. I mean, yeah, it pops up now and then, but Tommy’s dialogue with his inner demons was what attracted me to the show in the first place. Pysched is pretty funny, if a bit silly. It reminds me very much of Monk, which I like, but have neglected.

From this you’d think I watch a lot of TV… I really don’t.

I wish I could find a place where I fit in.

Clerks 2 was funny. Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man’s Chest sucked. A Scanner Darkly was disappointing. The Descent was actually decent (ha), for what it is.

Heath Ledger is the new Joker. What kind of shit is that? I’ve seen several incarnations of Joker in my day, and I can’t see Heath Ledger pulling it off. I don’t want to think about how many Brokeback Batman jokes we’re going to have to endure. I’ll try to reserve judgement, but… I keep picturing Heath Ledger getting chopped in the face with an axe to the tune of Hip To Be Square.

Rocky VI. This will be fantastic.

We all know that they’re making a new Transformers movie. The teaser trailer was less than awe-inspiring… Michael Bay is directing, and, well… Pearl Harbor was a terrible movie. I liked The Rock, and I kind of liked The Island and Bad Boys. Bad Boys 2 sucked. But a picture of Optimus Prime leaked onto the internet last week, and it pisses me off. You can find it here (for now.. they’ve been cease-and-desisting like crazy, which is futile). If it gets taken down, here’s a description: It’s a long-nose truck, black with a flame paint job. The real Optimus Prime looks more or less like this:

I’m not Transformers geek or anything, but that’s a huge difference. On the bright side, they got the original Optimus Prime voice actor, Peter Cullen, for this movie.

There’s also a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie coming soon.
