i just posted this on anothe site, thought i’d share it….

the world is full of people who have been hammered with jesus this prayer that since they were sucking their momma’s teet and are just adamantly absorbed in it. they can offer no logical reason as to why they believe what they do other than bullshit like it’s the truth he is lord blah blah it’s bullshit. it’s a form of escapism, wouldn’t it be great if we could just turn over all ourt faults problems worries and sins to some guy who supposedly died thousands of years ago? and hey, wouldn’t it also be great if when your body is unable to sustain life your consciousness will be whisked away to some perfect place and you’ll se all your friends and just get to hang out for eternity playing shuffleboard?? what’s this? some other religion? it’s blasphemous, we’re right they’re wrong as always. kill them in the name of god. and oh, what’s this? some evidence that pretty much destroys the church? hide it!! destroy it!! the popes and deacons and whatnot will be out of a job and we’ll have billions of disenfranchised people killing themselves in despair. i swear, when they are talking about this shit it makes me sick. if i were to come in one day saying i had a book that told me that my savior was a turtle who’s father had created earth and had sent the turtle to die for me, and when i die if i believed in him i would live forever i’d be locked up. these arrogant brainwashed peons just want something to make their insignificant little lives seem worth more. in actuallity we are nothing, mere specks on the windshield of life’s car driving down the highway at 80 mph. some people don’t want to see that, so they’ll believe whatever they need too. i mean… the arguements to be made in atheism’s defense are so many, i can barely keep my thinking straight when writing this. so to close: i believe there does not exiist any supreme being, we came about thru chemical reactions and evolution, and there is no supreme force guiding anyone’s life or listening to their “prayers”. i believe we as a species, and really all species for that matter, are accidents and survive solely by accident. we could be wiped out in the blink of an eye. i also believe that we do not know everything, not even a fraction of everything, but until you see some actual evidence of something existing it should remain purely hypothetical. thank you and merry christmas :) (and yes, i see the irony of ending this post with that heh)
